What Did Jesus Do During That Time After His Resurrection?

After Jesus’s resurrection, he spent a significant amount of time with his disciples before ascending to heaven. The Bible provides some insight into what Jesus did during this time.

Appearances to His Disciples
Jesus appeared to his disciples on multiple occasions after his resurrection. He visited them in a locked room where they were hiding and showed them the wounds on his hands and side (John 20:19-20).

He also appeared to two of his followers on the road to Emmaus and revealed himself to them in a meal (Luke 24:13-35). In another instance, he appeared to a group of disciples who were fishing and helped them catch fish (John 21:1-14).

Teaching His Disciples
During this time, Jesus also taught his disciples about the Kingdom of God. He explained the significance of his death and resurrection, as well as what was written about him in the Scriptures (Luke 24:44-45). He also gave them instructions for carrying out their mission, which included preaching the Gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).

Commissioning His Disciples
Jesus commissioned his disciples before ascending to heaven. He instructed them to wait for the Holy Spirit who would empower them for their mission (Acts 1:4-5). He also gave them authority to heal the sick and cast out demons (Mark 16:17-18).

The Ascension
Forty days after his resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven. According to Luke’s account, he led his disciples out as far as Bethany, blessed them, and was taken up into heaven while they watched (Luke 24:50-51).

In summary, after Jesus’s resurrection, he spent time with his disciples, teaching them about the Kingdom of God and commissioning them for their mission. He also appeared to them on multiple occasions before ascending to heaven. This time was crucial in preparing his disciples for the work they were called to do and solidifying their faith in him as Lord and Savior.
