After His resurrection, Jesus spent forty days on Earth before ascending to heaven. During this time, He appeared to His disciples and many others, performing miracles and teaching them about the Kingdom of God.
The Resurrection of Jesus
On the third day after His crucifixion, Jesus rose from the dead. Mary Magdalene was the first person to see Him, followed by many others, including His disciples. They were initially frightened and skeptical, but Jesus showed them His wounds and proved that He was indeed alive.
Jesus Appears to His Disciples
Jesus appeared to His disciples multiple times after His resurrection, both individually and in groups. He ate with them and spoke to them about God’s plan for humanity. He also gave them instructions for spreading the Gospel throughout the world.
One of the most well-known appearances occurred when Thomas doubted that Jesus had really risen from the dead. Jesus showed Thomas His wounds and said, “Put your finger here; see my hands.
Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” (John 20:27)
Jesus’ Miracles After His Resurrection
During this time on Earth, Jesus also performed several miracles. In one instance, He appeared to seven of His disciples while they were fishing on the Sea of Galilee.
They had caught nothing all night until Jesus told them to cast their nets on the right side of the boat. Suddenly, they caught so many fish that they couldn’t haul in their net.
In another miracle, Jesus healed a man who had been born blind. When asked how he had been healed, the man replied simply: “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes.” (John 9:11)
Jesus Ascends into Heaven
After forty days on Earth, Jesus gathered His disciples together and led them to the Mount of Olives. There, He blessed them and told them to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit to come upon them. Then, as they watched, Jesus ascended into heaven.
Conclusion
Jesus’ time on Earth after His resurrection was a time of great joy and wonder for those who saw Him. He performed miracles and taught people about God’s love. And though He eventually left Earth, His message and His spirit live on in those who believe in Him.
