Post-Classical Period
During this unit, students will explore the period between 600 CE and 1450 CE when major world religions such as Islam and Christianity emerged. They will also learn about the rise and fall of empires such as the Byzantine Empire, the Mongol Empire, and the Mali Empire. Additionally, they will discuss topics such as trade networks, urbanization, and cultural exchange.
Early Modern Period
In this unit, students will examine the period between 1450 CE to 1750 CE which saw significant changes in Europe such as the Renaissance and Reformation. They will also learn about scientific discoveries and technological innovations that led to global exploration and colonization by European powers.
Industrialization and Global Integration
During this unit, students will explore the period between 1750 CE to 1900 CE which saw significant changes in industry and transportation. They will also learn about imperialism, nationalism, revolutions in Europe and Latin America.
Accelerating Global Change and Realignments
In this final unit of Pre-AP World History course students learn about causes for World War I & II along with Cold War. This unit also explains how technology has impacted society from nuclear weapons to internet connectivity.
