What Does Jesus Say About Eternal Life?

Eternal life is a topic that has fascinated human beings for centuries. People have different beliefs and opinions about what happens after we die. However, as Christians, we believe that Jesus Christ has the answers to this question.

In John 3:16, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This statement by Jesus is the foundation of our faith as Christians. It tells us that God loves us so much that he sent his Son to die for our sins so that we can have eternal life.

Jesus also said in John 17:3, “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” This verse tells us that eternal life is not just about living forever but also about having a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

In John 6:47, Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.” This verse emphasizes the importance of faith in Jesus Christ as the way to obtain eternal life.

Moreover, in Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it.

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.” This verse warns us about the danger of following popular beliefs or trends instead of following Jesus’ teachings. It reminds us to stay on track with our faith journey and not be swayed by worldly influences.

In summary, according to Jesus’ teachings in the Bible; eternal life is a gift from God given to those who believe in Him through faith and have a personal relationship with Him. It’s not just about living forever but also about knowing God intimately. As Christians we are reminded to stay true to our faith and follow the teachings of Jesus, as this is the only way to obtain eternal life.
