What Food Did Jesus Eat After the Resurrection?

After the resurrection of Jesus, there is little information on what food he ate. However, we can gather some clues from the Bible and historical context.

The Last Supper

Before his crucifixion, Jesus shared a meal with his disciples which is famously known as The Last Supper. During this meal, Jesus took bread and wine and shared it with his disciples. He instructed them to continue this practice in remembrance of him.

Appearances after Resurrection

After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples several times. In one instance, he asked them for food to eat. They gave him a piece of broiled fish and he ate it in their presence (Luke 24:42-43).

Jewish Dietary Laws

Jesus was a Jew and followed Jewish dietary laws during his lifetime. These laws included restrictions on certain types of meat such as pork and shellfish. It is likely that even after his resurrection, he continued to follow these laws.

In conclusion, we do not have much information about what food Jesus ate after the resurrection. However, we can infer that he continued to follow Jewish dietary laws and may have eaten fish based on the account in Luke’s Gospel. The Last Supper also continues to be an important symbol for Christians today as they remember Jesus’ sacrifice through the act of communion.
