3. Temptation
After His baptism, Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan (Matthew 4:1-11).
During this time, He fasted for forty days and nights. It was during this time that Satan tempted Him with power and wealth if only He would worship him instead of God. However, Jesus resisted these temptations by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit.
4. Ministry
Throughout His ministry, Jesus relied heavily on the Holy Spirit.
He performed miracles, healed the sick, and cast out demons – all through the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:28). Jesus Himself said that He could do nothing without the Father and the Holy Spirit (John 5:19-20).
5. Death and Resurrection
Even in His death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit was present.
It was through the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus was raised from the dead (Romans 8:11). And after His resurrection, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to His disciples as a Comforter and Helper (John 14:16).
