Birth of Jesus
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, approximately 2000 years ago, to Mary and Joseph. According to the Bible, his birth was prophesied by many prophets in the Old Testament. He was born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger.
Childhood and Early Years
After his birth, Jesus lived with his family in Nazareth. He grew up as a carpenter’s son and was known for his wisdom even as a child. At the age of 12, he went to Jerusalem with his parents for Passover and amazed everyone with his knowledge and understanding of scripture.
Ministry Begins
When Jesus was around 30 years old, he began his ministry. He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River and then spent 40 days fasting in the wilderness. After this experience, he began preaching about God’s love and mercy.
Miracles

Teachings
Jesus also taught many important lessons during his ministry. He preached about repentance, forgiveness, love for God and others, humility, faithfulness, prayerfulness amongst other things.
The Crucifixion
Unfortunately not everyone accepted His message of love – some people saw him as a threat to their power structure or beliefs- This led to His eventual arrest by Roman authorities, trial and crucifixion. Jesus willingly gave up His life on the cross to save humanity from their sins.
Resurrection
After three days of being in the tomb, Jesus rose from the dead. This event is known as the Resurrection and it is considered one of the most important events in Christian history. It is celebrated every year on Easter Sunday.
Ascension
After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples and many others before ascending into heaven. This event is known as the Ascension and it marks the end of Jesus’ physical presence on earth.
