Who Did Jesus Reveal Himself to First After Resurrection?

After Jesus’ resurrection, He appeared to many of His followers, but who did He reveal Himself to first? The answer may surprise you.

According to the Bible, the first person that Jesus revealed Himself to after His resurrection was Mary Magdalene. Mary was a devoted follower of Jesus and had been present at His crucifixion. She had gone to the tomb early on the third day, only to find that the stone had been rolled away and the tomb was empty.

Mary was understandably distraught and wept outside the tomb. Suddenly, she saw a man standing there whom she did not recognize. It was Jesus, but she did not realize it at first because she thought He was the gardener.

Jesus spoke to her, saying “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”

(John 20:15). Mary replied, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away” (John 20:15).

It wasn’t until Jesus spoke her name that Mary recognized Him. He said to her, “Mary!”

And she turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher) (John 20:16).

This encounter between Mary and Jesus is a powerful reminder that our Savior is always near us even when we cannot see Him or feel His presence.

In addition to appearing to Mary Magdalene first after His resurrection, Jesus also appeared to other followers such as Peter and John. These appearances confirmed His resurrection and gave hope to those who believed in Him.

In conclusion, it was Mary Magdalene who had the privilege of being the first person to see Jesus after His resurrection. Her unwavering devotion and love for Christ were rewarded with this incredible encounter that changed her life forever.
